Our team of editorial experts, passionate historians and enthusiasts spent hours assessing our favourite historical films from the last 50 years, and cross-referenced these with Oscar nominations and wins. We managed to whittle these down to a discerning editorial selection of our top 20, and then put the vote over to you to decide the winner.
