History Hit Win a Historical Holiday – Terms and Conditions

THE REALLY IMPORTANT BITS

  • If you enter this Competition, you will be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
  • You must be over the age of 18 to enter.
  • All entrants must be resident in the UK (excluding Northern Ireland). 
  • Entries will only be accepted from Tuesday 18 April 2023 at 12:00 BST and will close on Thursday 18 May 2023 at 23:59 BST.
  • You are only entitled to enter the Competition once. Multiple entries from the same entrant will be disqualified.
  • You must have an active History Hit TV subscription at the time of entering the Competition and on the date on which winners are selected. 

FURTHER INFORMATION

By entering this Competition, you are agreeing to be bound by these Terms and Conditions and you confirm that you meet the eligibility criteria herein.  

1. The Promoter 

Hit Networks Limited (with registered company number 10559854), of Level 3, The Truman Brewery, 91 Brick Lane, E1 6QL, London, United Kingdom (Promoter) is the promoter of this Competition. 

2. How to enter the Competition 

2.1 The Competition will be open from Tuesday 18 April 2023 at 12:00 BST (Opening Date) and will close on Thursday 18 May 2023 at 23:59 BST (Closing Date). 

2.2 All Competition entries received before the Opening Date or after the Closing Date will not be considered. 

2.3 To enter the Competition, entrants must (at the following URL https://insights.historyhit.com/d-day-competition/) after the Opening Date and before the Closing Date submit an entry by: (i) correctly answering the question and (ii) completing the required fields, including entering their first name, surname and email address, and accepting the terms and conditions and privacy policy.  

2.4 Only one entry will be accepted per person. Multiple entries from the same person will be disqualified.

2.5 No responsibility can be accepted for entries not received for whatever reason.

3. Eligibility

3.1 The Competition is only open to entrants who are residents in the United Kingdom (excluding Northern Ireland) and are aged 18 years or over. Entrants must not be: 

(a) employees of the Promoter or any of its holding or subsidiary companies;

(b) employees of agents or suppliers of the Promoter or any of its holding or subsidiary companies, who are professionally connected with the Competition, or its administration; or

(c) members of the immediate families or households of (a) and (b) above.

3.2 All entrants must have an active History Hit TV subscription at the time of entering the Competition and on the date on which winners are selected. 

3.3 The Promoter may require you to provide proof that you are eligible to enter the Competition.

3.4 Entrants that do not fulfil the above eligibility criteria will be deemed ineligible and their entries disqualified. Where this is discovered after any prize has been awarded, the prize must be returned or refunded by the entrant. 

4. The prizes

4.1 The prize for the Competition is as follows:

One (1) place for one (1) person per winner on a trip, as specified below. A total of two (2) winners shall be selected. 

The trip is for one (1) person per winner to travel from Portsmouth, UK by standard class ferry to Caen, France, departing on Friday 2 June 2023 and returning on Tuesday 6 June 2023, staying at a single standard room at the Ibis Hotel, Caen Centre (3-star hotel). 

4.2 The prize is provided by TS Travel Limited (with company number 12057096 and registered office located at 4-6 Canfield Place, London, United Kingdom, NW6 3BT), and shall be operated by and subject to TS Travel Limited’s standard terms and conditions at:  https://tstours.co.uk/assets/tandc.pdf. The prize details are provided by TS Travel Limited at: https://trips.historyhit.com/tours/d-day-landings-dan-snow. 

4.3 You will be responsible for ensuring that you are available to travel and hold a valid passport, any necessary visas and travel documents for the trip in question on the travel dates specified.

4.4 The prize does not include travel insurance, local taxes, the cost of transfers to and from airports, ports or stations, food and drink (other than as specified by TS Travel Limited), spending money, tax or personal expenses. Any other costs incurred in addition to those set out above and that are incidental to the fulfilment of the prize are the responsibility of the winners.

4.5 The Promoter reserves the right to replace the prize with an alternative prize of equal or higher value. 

4.6 The prizes are not negotiable or transferable. There is no cash alternative for the prize.

4.7 The Promoter is not responsible for prize details supplied to any entrant by any third party connected with this Competition.

5. Winners and claiming prizes

5.1 Winners will be chosen at random by software, from all entries received and verified by Promoter and or its agents, within 48 hours of the Competition Closing Date (Prize Draw). 

5.2 The winners will be notified by email within a week following the Prize Draw. If a winner cannot be contacted or does not claim the prize within 24 hours of notification, the Promoter reserves the right to withdraw the prize from that winner and pick a replacement winner.

5.3 The Promoter will notify the winners how, when and where the prize can be collected / is delivered.

5.4 The Promoter does not accept any responsibility if an entrant is not able to take up the prize.

5.5 The winners’ names will be available for 28 days after the Closing Date by emailing the following email address: support@historyhit.com.

6. Limitation of liability

6.1 Insofar as is permitted by law, the maximum liability of the Promoter under these Terms and Conditions shall be limited to payment or delivery of the prizes of the Competition (as set out in these Terms and Conditions). 

7. Data protection and publicity

7.1 The Promoter will only process your personal information as set out in these Terms and Conditions and with its privacy policy at https://www.historyhit.com/privacy-policy. 

7.2 In addition to the data protection provisions as set out above, you acknowledge and understand that by entering the Competition any information and personal data provided by you about you and any information provided by you about individuals as part of the Competition entry will be used by the Promoter, its partners and service providers (including TS Travel Limited’s privacy policy) in order to administer and fulfil the Competition and for the purposes set out in these Terms and Conditions.

8. General

8.1 If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these Terms and Conditions, the Promoter may, at its sole discretion, reserve the right to exclude an entrant from participating in the Competition.

8.2 The Promoter reserves the right to hold void, suspend or cancel the Competition where it becomes necessary to do so.

8.3 The Promoter’s decision in respect of all matters to do with the Competition will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.

8.4 This Competition is in no way sponsored or endorsed by, or associated with any other third party.

8.5 These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by English law, and the parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
